Content Management System (CMS)

Content Management System (CMS) is a program or system that provides tools for management information within webpage. These tools allow to create, edit, delete text and multimedia documents.

Content Management Systems are built according different technologies and available both free of charge and for licence fee. CMS has tool bar for site management. Usually the visual editors (WYSIWYG) are applied to manage the content by user.

CMS helps to solve next tasks:

• combine according to roles and goals all sourses of information within the system;
• provide interaction of emplyees, working groups and projects with knowledge bases in the way user may operate in usual manner.

Due to constant necessity to fill the site with new information and to control its topicality new line of work has existed, that is content-manager or site's editor.
